FALLS CHURCH, VA- There is no doubt that one of the most important attractions making Washington, DC a world class city is the more than 170 embassies based here. And perhaps nowhere in the world but here in the capital of the USA, would dozens of embassies open their doors to guests on one day. That is what Passport DC is all about.
As event media sponsors, MHz Networks encourages Washington, DC residents to take part in Passport DC, presented by Cultural Tourism DC, throughout May.
On May 1 during the Around the World Embassy Tour, visitors can experience world cultures by choosing any number of the 35 embassies that will be open.
Visit MHz Networks at lounge tents along the Embassy tour routes: Massachusetts & 24th Street, NW and also at the Van Ness/UDC red line Metro stop. Relax and enjoy the world with MHz global programming on site, as well as information and freebies.
On May 8, the Shortcut to Europe featuring the European Union Embassies, will offer fresh opportunities, with 27 embassies welcoming guests. MHz Networks will be on site at the Embassy of France with our global programming and information.
Attendees visting any MHz Networks location on May 1 or 8 receive a free MHz Neworks gift.
On May 15 the focus is on introducing children to the world on DC’s doorstep, at the Meridian International Children’s Festival. And on May 22 the day’s highlight will be the National Asian Heritage Festival that takes place on Pennsylvania Ave, between 3rd and 6th Streets.
Cultural Toursim DC's marketing director Pat Wheeler says, "May is the perfect time to celebrate International Cultural Awareness Month in D.C. by introducing yourself to embassies from Australia to Botswana, from Columbia to Ukraine. Marvel at the architecture, art and crafts, and sample new cuisines and compare eateries."
